There isn’t a lot of info on this yet, but check out this ultra cool DAW virtual control surface software coming soon to an iPad near you! It’s the AC-7 Pro from developer Saitara Software.

Here’s what I’ve found out so far…
- 9 multitouch “flying” faders with 14bit sub pixel resolution
- Per track level meters
- Time display for SMPTE or bars/beats
- Dynamically updated track names
- Dedicated modes for Logic, Digital Performer and ProTools
- More modes coming soon

Ah yes! Just what Dave and I were talking about on IHR recently. Glad to see someone get right on that.
Uh, price?
Nothing yet, but I’ll bet we know by Saturday! I’d pay a lot more than I would for the typical app if it works as good as it looks.

There you have it from the horse’s mouth folks. Thanks so much Colin!

Their iPhone version of this app works pretty well. The extra level of integration for dynamic names is a little wonky sometimes because you need to run two different wifi/midi servers on the host machine. I’m not sure at this point that I would use this as my main controller surface, but as a remote controller surface it works well (when I’m working on my main keyboard which is not in front of the computer).
